Send us Fan MailIn this episode we are joined by JP Johnson (Cherokee) and Dustin Mater (Chickasaw) as we discuss the history of Southeastern traditional tattoos and how it intersects with broader Native American history. We'd like to dedicate this episode to Choctaw scholar Michelene E. Peasantubbee who's foundational work looking at the intersections of Choctaw women's roles and Christianity has had a profound influence on this project as well. This episode will contain conversations around genocide and settler colonialism. As a result we want to give a content warning for discussions of Christianity, boarding schools, violence, and sexual violence.
