My guest for Episode 59 is Scott Handsaker, the CEO of Cyrise, Asia-Pacific’s first Cyber Security Accelerator program. Scott has been at the forefront of the Victorian Startup ecosystem over the last decade. He has cofounded 2 startups, has been a mentor at accelerator programs such as AngelCube and is the cofounder and board member at Startup Victoria, a non-profit organisation focused on helping Melbourne become a world class startup ecosystem. Scott has recently taken on a new role as the the CEO of CyRise, a venture accelerator backed by Deakin University and Dimension Data, focused squarely on early stage cyber security startups. In this episode we talk about the challenges of hiring, what the best accelerator programs should provide, the importance of mentor networks and the characteristics of the best founders.
