EP07 - Kameron Klamtown
from The Folk Hogan Podcast Hosted by Folk Hogan
Podcast Episode 07 - Kameron Klamtown In this episode, recorded at Space N Faders, we chat with Kameron, our banjo player, covering two unique tracks on the upcoming Folk Hogan album. Topics Covered: "Blood From a Stone" This song carries a classic Folk Hogan Irish vibe. Kameron discusses the original riff, sourced from Moses’s phone recording. Notably, it's one of the few songs with a strong chorus on the new album. Big stretches on the banjo make this one challenging but rewarding to play. We listen to the bridge section of "Blood From a Stone." Fun fact: Moses doesn’t get mad often, but this song’s bridge section brings out the intensity! "All Good Things Die in San Diego" This song is the second-to-last track on the album. We share a cell phone recording from the studio where we first learned the song. A living wake for Larry the Legend is the inspiration, and you can watch the tribute concert here: Part 1: https://youtu.be/JxFElLO4QYA?si=SaZF0wWB90yAdq6Y Part 2: https://youtu.be/scX3RzvmYZ4?si=7gJN_wsc7rB7PFqh The drums in this song are powerful, setting an incredible foundation. Moses shares his thoughts on cutting lyrics about his grandma, shaping the song’s final form. Key lyrics include “With a full moon rising” and “I don’t want to live forever, without you.” Kameron explains how we crafted the backup vocals and intense ending. Ghostly banjo sounds give the song an ethereal opening, adding a unique texture. Additional Highlights:
