Ep101: Daughter's and Dad's Active and Empowered with Prof Phil Morgan

from Shooting The Breeze

Every once in a while you see a truly groundbreaking initiative. In this episode we hear about the innovative ‘Daughter’s and Dad’s Active and Empowered’ program designed from years of extensive research by Aussie Professor Philip Morgan from the University of Newcastle. Phil, in his first Australian podcast, tells us about this exciting multi-faceted initiative and the basketball program developed with Basketball NSW.Leveraging talented researchers across multiple disciplines, the program positively impacts girl’s physical, emotional and socio well-being as well as connecting dad's to their daughters in a meaningful way and generating a groundswell of gender equity advocates that dad’s are embracing. At the heart of this research and the program that is now quite literally sweeping the world is a chance for girls to realise their potential in a sporting context and beyond, alongside their significant male role models who equally benefit from an enriched relationship. This is powerful stuff, and the testimonials speak for themselves. Something special is happening here.Enjoy!NSW have some Daughters and Dads basketball programs starting this term at various locations.
