EP114 You... The Tomato Plant | Shannah Kennedy

from Roll With The Punches · host Tiffanee Cook

Shannah tells me today how to look after myself like I would a tomato plant (just quietly, I fear for my own mortality based on my ability to keep plants alive).  It's analogy she's going to write a book about and it makes the world of sense... In her 20's Shannah was killing it.  Working her butt off and getting all the accolades as a young powerhouse female making waves working with high profile athletes in sport.  She killed it alright, until it killed her (not quite literally).  But by 29 Shannah collapsed into the clutches of chronic fatigue syndrome.  It took a year in bed to start climbing out of that state of exhaustion and it's something that still at 50 (no sh*t, I know what you're thinking but yes that's Shannah in the cover photo and yes she is actually 50) she still very much lives and manages life around today. That being said, Shannah now thrives from that experience she refers to as a gift.  She has developed her way of living to manage getting the best out of her life and she's found purpose and joy in helping the rest of us do the same BEFORE reaching that point of no return. If you're a typical type A personality too, this episode with resonate in many points along the way... Enjoy!
