The pulmonary valve rarely causes problems due to its low-pressure environment, though congenital narrowing can occasionally occur. Valve disease typically presents with shortness of breath and reduced exercise capacity rather than chest pain, and can often be detected through heart murmurs that doctors identify during physical examination.
