On the latest episode of American Slacker Matt and Jesse are joined by mental health & sex therapist Erika Miley, the host of Sex Talk with Erika Miley. Erika has a master's in clinical mental health and she discusses using her skills as a "sex detective" to figure out the root of patient's issues. She dives into how shame and anxiety play a large role in repressing sexuality, the lack of sexual education in school and why this could lead to downfalls in people's personal lives. Erika talks about the importance of mindfulness, the connections between exercise and happiness and the colorful words she picked up while working in the prison system. They bring up a few of her favorite moments from her podcast and give credit to the woman who inspired Erika, Sue Johanson.
