EP17: Marianna Whitehurst explains her role with the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl | Georgia Sports Hall of Fame

On this episode of "Into the Unknown" We are joined by a friend and colleague, Marianna Whitehurst. As the southern sun sets over storied college football stadiums, I had the pleasure of welcoming Marianna Whitehurst to the microphone. A Georgia Tech legacy and Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl board member, Marianna shares her family's enduring love for the game, the honor of fulfilling her grandfather's wishes through scholarships, and the touching responsibility of nominating heroes to the College Football Hall of Fame. Our conversation navigates historic stadiums, the importance of mentorship in athletics, and the resilience of programs like Tennessee's, all through Marianna's heartfelt connection to the gridiron. We delve into crafting narratives that resonate beyond the field, from my work with Swick Media designing a Hall of Fame exhibit to elevating student-athletes during transformative moments. Marianna's advocacy and mentorship underscore the profound impact of these roles, exemplified by the community's solidarity in grieving Demaryius Thomas's untimely loss. This episode is an ode to the college football family's ties, resilience, and the pursuit of new horizons that capture the South's indomitable spirit.
