EP17 | People Pleasing vs. Serving

from Me Versus Me · host Me Versus Me

People pleasing versus people serving. Raise your hand if you just read that and said “Huh!?” You’re not alone - but you’re in the right place at the right time if taking your life to the next level is something that excites you. Most of us have (or still are) suffering from chronic people pleasing - its just engrained in us - and in a culture that places family values at the core of life, the habit of people pleasing gets amplified 10x. We seek approval when we make decisions, we hold back from saying what we truly feel out of the fear of judgement and criticism, we dive into careers that we don’t feel passionate about, and arguably the most painful of all - we place other people and their needs above our own. While this way of life may have its benefits when we’re in middle school/high school, it’s extremely detrimental when we’re trying to grow and thrive as individuals - so much so, that it can potentially cost us our freedom, happiness, and fulfillment. In this episode, we dive into how to side-step the model of people pleasing and instead shift to the one rooted in love, freedom, passion, success, and more - people serving. If you’re like us and have fallen victim to people pleasing, this is NOT an episode you’ll want to miss. Enjoy! Connect with us on IG! Shana: @Shanaynays_lab MAYKR: @theMAYKRshow
