Ep18: Paper Plates and Marriage
from Transformational · host Chris and Robert Hurst
No one goes into marriage thinking it will end. However, some people treat their marriage like a paper plate. They use it selfishly, and then discard it when they have gotten all they can from it. People do not use real dishes, because of the work that comes along with them. If you want a meaningful marriage, like real dishes, the work is worth it! it is important to go to the designer of marriage, God, and do the work that He calls us to do. As we get ready to dive into what God says about marriage in Ephesians 5, we take time to read Paul's prelude in Ephesians 4 to focus on humility as it is foundational to a good marriage. Ephesians 4:1-3 "I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, urge you to live worthily of the calling with which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, making every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace."
