鯉魚潭位於花蓮縣壽豐鄉的鯉魚潭風景區內，是花蓮縣境內最大的內陸湖泊，面積大約有104公頃，因為側邊有一座像鯉魚的山，古人說「鯉魚山上有鯉魚，鯉魚潭裡水中游。」所以取名為鯉魚潭。優美的景色吸引許多遊客來此遊玩，每逢假日是在地人郊遊野餐、帶小孩郊遊的好地方，到了螢火蟲的繁殖季節，點點螢光照亮漆黑的鯉魚潭，吸引著學校、家庭、遊客們來這裡參加一場生態旅遊。本集「早安東海岸」節目，魯道將帶鄉親來趟「花蓮鯉魚潭」之旅，一同親近大自然，聽迎收聽。
