騾夫帶著騾和驢去遠方購買貨物。 回來的路上，驢對騾說：「我覺得好累，你能幫我搬一點東西嗎？」驢子轉頭過去，假裝沒聽見。 走了一陣子，他們遇上崎嶇的路，驢子又開口要求：「請你幫幫我吧，我就快走不動了。」騾反而走得更快，把驢遠遠拋在後方。 終於，驢倒在地上累死了。騾夫拉過騾來，把貨物和驢皮都搬到騾背上。騾後悔的說：「如果我肯幫驢一下，現在就不用𠄘受所有的重擔了。」
