EP201: Toby Manning

Today’s enlightening episode features Toby Manning, famous journalist and author who has contributed to The Word, Q, MOJO, Mixmag, Select and NME, and is the author of The Rough Guide to Pink Floyd. His latest book has just been released - Mixing Pop and Politics: A Marxist History of Popular Music - a thorough and fascinating overview of popular music from a Marxist perspective. This may sound a little dry but in fact is a highly insightful analysis of how pop and politics have symbiotically fed off each other for decades, and where we’re heading to next… Ladies and gentlemen, meet the absorbing Toby Manning.
