This is the heart behind Saddleback’s Extension Campuses. Through multiple revisions in recent memory, the giga-church Saddleback has been exploring the idea of operating as a microchurch, struggling to figure out a model of operation that can operate through a decentralized framework that empowers people to have the freedom to minister in their context. This is an exciting, but challenging idea. How can a massive church like Saddleback release control?
