(Foto: privat) Im Podcast spreche ich diesmal mit DoP Guido Frenzel über die strenge Klarheit und die visuelle Umsetzung des Theaterstücks &#8222;DIe Ermittlung&#8220; fürs Kino. Regisseur RP Kahl bringt das Werk von Peter Weiss am 25. Juli 2024 zusammen mit Produzent Alexander van Dülmen als ambitionierte Live-Studioproduktion in die Lichtspielhäuser. &#8222;Die Ermittlung&#8220; von Peter Weiss wurde 1965 uraufgeführt und thematisiert auf nüchtern-erschütternde Weise die Unmenschlichkeit und Präzision der Konzentrationslager am Beispiel der ersten deutschen Auschwitzprozesse von 1963 bis 1965. Regisseur RP Kahl und Produzent Alexander van Dülmen lag es fern, dieses Stück Zeitgeschichte als historisierendes Kostümstück auf die Leinwand zu bringen. In einem abstrahierten Gerichtssaal treffen hier Zeug*innen und Angeklagte aufeinander. Das zurückgenommene Spiel im stilisierten Licht wurde an fünf Drehtagen im Studio Adlershof in Berlin von acht Kameras aufgezeichnet. Verantwortlich für das Bild war DoP Guido Frenzel. Crewleistung Guido kam zum Projekt, weil er in den USA unter anderem bei Produktionen wie &#8222;The Voice&#8220; eine fast zwei Jahrzehnet überspannende Erfahung mit Live-Kamera-Studiodrehs hat. Guido erzählt mir von den ersten Gesprächen mit RP Kahl, wie die Auflösung über mehrere tausend Kilometer hinweg per Zoom enstand und welche Peformance der rund 60 Schauspieler*innen ihn am meisten beeindruckte.
