For the better part of the last decade or so, Oris has quietly carved out a reputation of being a leading independent with a heavy focus on watchmaking innovations driven by science and a startup mentality. Watches like the Aquis Depth Gauge and the ProPilot Altimeter immediately spring to mind, but newer innovations in carbon fiber casemaking and wild dial design are also being pioneered – all special projects being led by Oris Product Engineer Richard 'Ipy' Siegrist.
