Ich unterhalte mich mit Florian im ersten Teil unseres längeren Gesprächs über seinen Werdegang, wie er seine Entscheidungen trifft und welche Werke für ihn besonders wichtig waren. Florian Ballhaus wuchs am Filmset auf, Früh wusste er, hinter der Kamera ist auch sein Platz. Das war nicht einfach, denn sein Vater war immerhin Michael Ballhaus. Dennoch oder gerade deswegen ging er seinen höchst eigenen Weg und blieb trotz Hollywoodkarriere sehr demütig seiner Arbeit gegenüber. Im Podcastgespräch verrät er uns Details über sein Kinodebüt als DoP &#8222;Härtetest&#8220; von Janek Rieke. Es folgen &#8222;Flight Plan&#8220; und &#8222;Der Hauptmann&#8220; und die Zusammenarbeit mit Regisseur Robert Schwentke, einem der beiden festen Kollaborateure seiner Karriere. Der andere ist David Frankl, mit dem Florian unter anderem &#8222;Der Teufel trägt Prada&#8220; drehte.
