Der Kinofilm nach dem Klassiker von Michael Ende läuft seit dem 2. Oktober 2025 im Kino. Regie führte Christian Ditter. Mit Christian Rein unterhalte ich mich über die Motive in Kroatien, welche Farbdramaturgie er wählte und warum er gerne Farben und Look schon ins Material „einbackt“. Wenn eine Michael-Ende-Verfilmung ansteht, horche ich auf. In Deutschland haben wir wenige derart bekannte Autor*innen, die ein solches Werk schaffen konnten, wie Michael Ende. Als sein Erfolgsroman „Momo“ unter der Regie von Christian Ditter verfilmt werden sollte, rutschte ich an den Rand meines Bürostuhls. Tatsächlich nahm die Geschichte schon vor mehreren Jahren ihren Anfang, als Regisseur Ditter erstmals mit Christian Rein über das Projekt sprach. Wie so oft dauerte es erstmal, bis ein solches, zumal internationales Projekt auf den Beinen stand. Neuverfilmung nah am Werk Auch wenn der Trailer nicht so aussieht, „Momo“ (2025) bleibt sehr nah an der Romanvorlage. Die wenigen Modernisierungen sind weniger einer Anpassung an die Gen Z geschuldet, als eher der Glaubwürdigkeit.
