from Ireland's Vanishing Triangle
Welcome to episode 40 of the Cliff's Edge Podcast: The Butcher of Mons with special guest Rion.On a Spring day in 1997 a Belgian cop got off his horse to investigate what he presumed to be another case of illegal dumping. However, what he discovered was something far more sinister; dismembered human remains that had been left in numerous bin bags. Over the next seven months more bags containing human remains were found throughout the Mons region. These destressing finds shocked the locals of Mons, but the fear and shock of the public did not lead to an expensive and prolonged investigation. Sadly it was quite the opposite. As time passed the victims plight seems to have been largely forgotten by the authorities. And due to Belgium's statute of limitations; if the killer is not caught in the next fifteen months they will have gotten away with these barbaric murders in the eyes of the law.Thank you for listening and if you have the time please give us a rating and a share.
