EP400: Jan Meek - How To Set Guinness World Records In Your 50s, 60s, and 70s

from The Thought Leader Revolution Podcast · host Nicky Billou

"Always ask why. You must know what's going on all around you. But if you want a really interesting life, don't say why, say why not." When you open doors in your mind, opportunities in the tangible world will present themselves. Jan Meek learned a very simple and very powerful lesson very early in life when she was taught to approach life with a 'why not?' attitude. After opening that door in her mind, there was nothing stopping her from earning four Guinness World Records. Two for rowing across the Atlantic in 101 days with her son, and two for racing 403 miles to the North Pole. Before that, her first 'why not' landed her a job in the film and TV industry working with names like Johnny Goodman, Roger Moore, and Sammy Davis Junior. As fate would have it, when Jan landed in Barbados after crossing the Atlantic, she met 'Canada's Coach' and international public speaker, Raymond Aaron, who encouraged her to share her inspiring stories on the stage as a public speaker. She's now in the process of writing, Chicken Soup For The Ocean Lover's Soul and her auto biography, Meek & Wild. Expert actions steps: Always ask, "why not?" to take great strides forward in life. Have confidence in yourself. Always be prepared. Cover your own back.
