In this episode, Channa Channa Channa talks to Rock Legend Chitral ‘Chity’ Somapala. Channa discovered Chity way back in the 1990s when Chity used to play with local Sri Lankan band Friends and was frequently appeared on the Sri Lankan TV. Chity who is born to renowned musician parents P.L.A. and Chitra Somapala in Sri Lanka, grew up experiencing how music is made first hand.  In 1998  he produced the song “Nadee Ganga Tharanaye”  for a commercial for local beer.  This is probably the first Rock song with Sinhala lyrics in Sri Lanka.  Chity moved to Europe has worked with multiple Metal bands like Avalon, Faro, Firewind, Civilization One, Power Quest, Red Circuit.  Chity talks about growing up, his parents, discovering rock music, recording his most famous song, touring the world,  recording with world-class Power Metal bands and artists.  Chity also talks about producing a tribute album for his parents' music and also about his new Sinhalese songs. Check out City's live performance of “Kashmir” with  Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra 2009: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFLceoYjvDc#channa3x #channa3xvlogs #chitysomapala Support the show
