According to the 2018 World Happiness Report, the world's happiest countries tend to have high values for six critical variables found to support well-being: income, healthy life expectancy, social support, freedom, trust and generosity. Denmark is consistently among the top 3, while the USA are slipping down the rankings. So what is happiness? What are the important factors for governments to take into consideration when working to increase happiness and quality of life among their populations? How are health and happiness related? What does it take to design healthcare systems that make people happy?
