在教育领域中的戏剧，最早可以追溯到1897年，在英国的乡村教师芬蕾强森意识到在这样一种结构性的玩耍中，儿童往往能够更好的掌握其他知识，在那之后的一个世纪，戏剧在教育中的应用在英国演变了多种多样的形式。在今天它的样态是什么？在经历了许多轰轰烈烈的教育改革后，它的存活率已经很低，原因是什么？我请来了在英国做教育戏剧研究的青年学者苏荣，她曾在英国国家话剧院、皇家歌剧院与小天使剧团教育戏剧项目中实习与执教。在Big Brum Freshwater等多家教育戏剧公司和中小学（Dulwich Colleague、Bedford School等）调研教育戏剧现状，并采访David Davis, Roger Wooster, Cecily O'Neil等教育戏剧理论家。录制这期节目时，她正好刚完成自己的论文，采访了我们领域中诸多重要的作者、教授和老师，并且刚刚从最新一期的IDEA和IDIERI全会参会回来。我们讨论了英国政府对教育领域的约束和审查，戏剧学术圈的封闭，商业化的问题，以及它们共同的源头1988年教育法案，并最后谈论到中国的现状。我们如何避免陷入到英国矛盾的现状中？或是我们已经身处其中？我们如何走出来？                                                                                                                                                   —— 曹曦
