Ep56 Dr. Ed Thomas

from Action Steps Podcast · host Steve "Coach Fury" Holiner

Fitness pioneer and physical culture historian Dr. Ed Thomas (Viamilitaris, Indian Clubs, Inversion Training) joins me for ep56 of the Coach Fury Podcast! I first met Ed while assisting him, Phil Scarito and Brett Jones at an Indian Club Workshop in 2014. He’s one of the most interesting and intelligent people I’ve met and I’m grateful that he came on the show to share some of his wisdom with us. Dr. Thomas is largely responsible for the reintroduction and rise of Indian Club Swinging in popular fitness. We discuss the benefits of Indian Club and Inversion training, how fitness has evolved and devolved in the 1900s, how our school furniture is deforming our kids bodies, how sports negatively impacted school phys ed and so much more. You can see many of the videos we referenced and learn more from Dr. Thomas on his youtube channel: Viamilitaris www.youtube.com/channel/UCCIntHcL6tSgWW5eXsDX7TQ.
