from Me Versus Me · host Me Versus Me
The primary purpose of the human brain is survival. It is designed to keep us alive, and in order to succeed in that mission, our brains are constantly gathering data in the form of words, emotions, experiences, and more. The problem that arises as a result, is that our brain forms assumptions based on probability. Meaning, even if something is incorrect, if more people agree than don't, our brains perceive it as fact. It overgeneralizes, and creates patterns and triggers based on certain words which ultimately drive our behaviors and emotions. See the potential problem? In this episode, we take a look at this and how it applies to marriage, discussing our own experiences and how we ultimately went from the verge of divorce, to happier than we've ever been.
