EP61: How to Create A Diverse and Inclusive Recruitment Process with Jo Major

In recruitment, you deal with people every.single.day. And yet, for such a people-focused process, it rarely takes into account what 'being a person' means and all of the nuances that come with it. Which is why there is still so much work to do on DE&I in the recruitment space.  Because a person writes up the job description. And it's a person that "shortlists" the lucky 10 people.  And it's another person who is the person between the interviewee person and the person who's actually hiring.  And then that person has to work (and hopefully enjoy) that job they've just fought other people for - in an office full of other people. Basically, there's a lot of people involved.  And so it only makes sense that we're as openminded and accepting as humanly possible.
