EP83 Playing The Cards We're Dealt | Nick Reid

At Christmas I caught up with Nick Reid for the first time in 20 years since we were at school.  Over this time Nick has spread his wings and spent a number of years living in the UK.  He eventually returned to the homeland in Tasmania (Australia) together with his Polish wife and their children and set out on a whole new career opportunity in his 30's as a submariner for the Navy.  In 2018 Nick collapsed whilst riding his bike, only to wake up in hospital after having been put into an induced coma to control his seizure.  Three days later an egg sized tumor was removed from his brain, coming back with a Stage 3 diagnosis... Chemo, radiation, contemplation. Today we chat about those 20 years Nick experienced and much about the reality of his most recent two years.   The past, the present, the future.  Most often perspectives we don't contemplate until we are personally reminded of the fragility of our human lives.
