EP95: William Orbit
from Electronically Yours with Martyn Ware Hosted by Martyn Ware
Today’s exceptional episode of Electronically Yours features a superstar producer, DJ and artist William Orbit. His dance, ambient and classical sensibilities and arrangements made him one of the world’s go-to producers for artists like Madonna (Ray Of Light), and a huge number of successful projects for the likes of Prince, Britney Spears, Mel C, Pink, U2, Katie Melua, Blur etc, etc. The dance/ambient/classical hybrid electronic version of Barber’s Adagio for Strings was wildly successful, and has given birth to an entire genre. His appreciation of emotionally-engaging arrangements and dance sensibility is a powerful recipe for success. His name has appeared on over 200 million records… Ladies and gentlemen – ride the starbeam with William Orbit...
