At which point is the FED truly trapped, even when accounting for the fact that they keep talking about tapering. Can they really taper? Unemployment is still an issue they are dealing with as a consequence of significant forced market changes and paying people to stay home. Inflation is running hot, and debt has expanded like crazy. Can they truly reduce tapering without it producing a shock in the markets? After all, market confidence is crucial in the POV of the fed to nudge the market in a desireable direction. What sort of political consequences will be acceptable and how will they act in accordance.
