With us this week, is legendary economist Dr.Mark Skousen. He is a professional economist, investment expert, university professor, and author of over 25 books. Since 1980, he has been the editor of the award-winning newsletter, Forecasts & Strategies. Currently he is a Presidential Fellow at Chapman University, where he received “My Favorite Professor Award" in 2019.  He was recently ranked one of the top 20 most influential living economists. In 2018, he was awarded the Triple Crown in Economics for his work in theory, history and education (presented by Steve Forbes). He has had widespread experience in three major sectors: working in government (CIA), non-profits (president of the Foundation for Economic Education), and for profit (CEO/publisher of books, newsletters and conferences).  He earned his Ph. D. in economics at George Washington University in 1977.  In 2004-05, he taught economics and finance at Columbia Business School and Columbia University. Since 1980, Skousen has been editor in chief of Forecasts & Strategies, a popular award-winning investment newsletter (www.markskousen.com). He is also the producer of FreedomFest, an annual conference of free thinkers that meets every July in Las Vegas (www.freedomfest.com. Based on his work The Structure of Production (NYU Press, 1990), the federal government now publishes Gross Output (GO) every quarter, the first macro statistic to be published since GDP was invented in the 1940s.
