Summary

This Australian GP was a wild weekend which saw Max & his RB retire from a race with Mechanical issues for the first time in 2 years ! This gave a great opportunity for Ferrari and specifically Carlos Sainz who had a brilliant weekend scoring a victory just 9 days after having surgery. It also boosted the team to a 1-2 finish for the first time since 2022. Mercedes in contrast had an absolutely miserable weekend with Lewis having a really rare engine failure, and Russell experiencing a crash on the last lap caused by Alonso brake testing him. Alonso would later be found guilty by the stewards and given a penalty that dropped him to 8th position.
