Epiosde 38 - After the Wedding *Listener's Choice*

Susanne Bier's 2006 melodrama features a stunning ensemble cast and tells a compelling tale of the role of love among family and strangers.  Mads Mikkelsen (known for the TV show "Hannibal") plays Jacob, the protagonist of the film; the one to which the story "happens."  He works for a children's charity in India when he is called to Denmark to meet with a wealthy business tycoon who is interested in contributing to the charity.  Seemingly at random, Jacob is invited by the tycoon to the wedding of his daughter.  It is what happens "after the wedding" that will have you glued to your TV screen.  This highly praised film was nominated for a Foreign Language Film Oscar and is one of the most beautifully mounted human dramas in recent memory.
