Episode 0: The Pilot

from Storytellers · host Derik Jones

This is the pilot episode for Storytellers, a new podcast from the mind of Rashanii. Storytellers consists of one-part improv and one-part interpretation. Four people take turns, each telling part of a single story, up to 5 minutes. The catch? Each person only hears the part of the story that came right before it, and the stories themselves are randomly chosen through storytelling cards. At the end, the four gather around to listen to the tale together while offering their unguarded responses, praise, critiques, and questions as to why each person chose to go in the direction they did. The result is unpredictable but potentially humorous and thought-provoking. Please let us know what you think. Leave a message at 916-583-8497 or email us at [email protected]. You can also reach us on Twitter via @StoryTaleSpin, or through the hashtag #TalesWeTell.

Explicit Candlelit Tales Irish Mythology Podcast Candlelit Tales We are a group of storytellers, performers, and musicians. We tell Irish myths to a live audience with live music.Candlelit Tales was founded by brother-sister storytelling duo Aron and Sorcha Hegarty. Driven by a passion for Irish mythology, we started retelling the stories to a near-empty room upstairs in a Dublin pub one rainy evening in November. The next week, the room was a lot less empty, and we were joined by musician Ru O’Sé. By the fourth week, the room was full, and so was the hall outside. We realised that when we share our passion, it becomes contagious. And we’ve been telling stories and playing music from that day to this. Since then, over the past five years of telling stories in the capital of this nation of storytellers, we have developed and refined our uniquely expressive, naturalistic and modern style. Live music is the heartbeat of all our performances, and a live original music score composed by a team of talented musicians drives the rhythm of the stories Explicit Bawdy Storytelling Dixie De La Tour Bawdy Storytelling – dubbed 'The Moth for pervs' by the LA Weekly – is the nation's original sex and storytelling series.
