Episode 004: MSG Carini
from Beyond The Pond
Welcome back to Beyond The Pond! Episode 004 focuses on the 12/30/2012 Carini from Madison Square Garden in New York City, NY. One of the strongest jams of the band’s 3.0 era (2009–Present), this is a prime example of purely evil Phish. Songs featured in this episode are: The Violent Femmes: “Kiss Off,” Radiohead: “A Punch Up At A Wedding,” Faith No More: “Smaller & Smaller,” The Haxan Cloak: “Excavation Pt. II,” Deafheaven: “Luna,” and Cass McCombs: “Buried Alive." In addition, we discussed some new music we’ve both been digging: Charly Bliss’ Guppy, Kamasai Washington’s “Truth”, and The War On Drugs’ “Thinking Of A Place,” the last two being 11+min singles from forthocoming releases.
