Hosted by Mark Milow, aka MarkInThePark21, this is a space where honesty meets optimism, and everyday moments matter just as much as the big ones.This week’s guest is researcher Rebecca Wallings.  Rebecca’s Bio reads:Rebecca Wallings is an Assistant Professor at Indiana University’s (IU) StarkNeurosciences Research Institute (SNRI) and Departments of Neurology andMicrobiology and Immunology. She earned her PhD from the University of Oxford in2019, where she identified a novel LRRK2 substrate, vATPase a1, linking LRRK2mutations to lysosomal dysfunction. Her postdoctoral research focused on lysosomalregulation of inflammation in PD and dementia, with emphasis on LRRK2 andprogranulin mutations. She received fellowships from both the Parkinson Foundationand Brightfocus Foundation, and has led pioneering work on immune cell exhaustion inPD. In 2024, she was awarded the Parkinson Foundation Launch Award to establishher independent laboratory in October of 2025.
