Episode 062 - Matthew 12:9-14 - A Question with a Question

In Episode 62, Those Crazy Bible Study Guys explore how the Pharisees continue to try to use their legalism to trap Jesus showing mercy to others on the Sabbath.  And we learn a great approach to communications Jesus regularly demonstrates to us throughout the Bible as he answers the Pharisees' question with a question.  Jesus then provides an analogy to show, once again, how He desires mercy. Jesus then demonstrates that mercy by healing a man's shriveled hand on the Sabbath. This act of mercy and compassion becomes a focal point for understanding the true purpose of the Sabbath.  Those Crazy Bible Study Guys reflect on Jesus' boldness of doing this act of mercy in the Pharisees' home court (their synagogue), his method of responding to questions with questions, and the importance of showing mercy over adhering to legalistic rules.
