Episode 07 - Relating

In this episode of the WALKING FOR PEACE PODCAST, Alberto and I explore one of the most human aspects of any spiritual journey: the challenge of relating when life is calling us into the unknown. As we reflect on the early days of our pilgrimage from Rome to Jerusalem, we revisit the fears that arose as we stepped away from familiar identities and into a path we could not fully understand. Alberto shares his fear of hurting those he loved through his decision to join the pilgrimage. I speak about my fear of rejection, of not being taken seriously, and of losing the professional identity that had given me purpose, recognition, and security. Looking back through the lens of A Course in Miracles, we can see how these fears were not caused by the people or circumstances around us, but by the thoughts and self-images we were still trying to protect. We explore what it means to relate—to family, friends, strangers, the future, ourselves, and ultimately to God—when the foundations of identity begin to shift. This conversation touches on forgiveness, the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the fear of letting go, and the continual invitation to return to Love, which is our true Identity.
