DISCOURSE “Discourse” is a show about telling stories that matter. Each season has a different focus, listed below the title, explored through audio storytelling. Episodes can vary from a narrator-centered monologue to an in-studio interview, to a long-form feature. Here at Mamaroneck High School, we are looking to tell stories. About people. What we have found, is our students have stories to share. And we want to arm them with the skills and platform to do so.Our show features students composing and mixing feature radio stories about the public and our community. All pieces are student-written and student-produced. Wordplay George Bilgere and John Donoghue Hard to believe, but Wordplay is now in its ninth year on the air at WJCU. The show has evolved into an offbeat mix of poetry, comedy, and an ongoing exploration of the possibilities of the spoken word. Wordplay's opening monologue blends music and language (and sometimes sound effects) into a surreal, funny, often darkly serious meditation on the state of one man's struggles to live in the bewildering world of contemporary America. The show also features guest appearances by local poets such as Ray McNiece, Mary Weems, Michael Salinger, Katie Daley, Jack McGuane, Gail Bellamy, and dozens of other interesting voices. And nationally known writers like Billy Collins, Robert Pinsky, Rita Dove and Paul Muldoon have performed on the show in connection with their readings at John Carroll University. But the real strength of Wordplay is the interaction between co-hosts George Bilgere and John Donoghue. The two poets read short, interesting poems by important writers. Just and Sinner Podcast Jordan B Cooper A weekly discussion of theology from a Lutheran perspective. The Deep End Wasif Tamuri A podcast focused on highlighting abstract concepts and ideas through a monologue. You, my listener are my honourable guest, and I acting as your distinguished host. I’ve wondered about the human experience from the other side. No, not beyond the stars, but rather from you, the other human I interact with. Do you think about things on another level that might be too weird or strange to talk about and discuss. Lets shatter that stigma of something being too far out to think about. Tune in and listen as we venture to the side of ourselves not often visited out loud. Are you willing to go to the deep end?
