The old has passed away; behold, the new has come."Fruit is grown. Gifts are given.The Fruit of the Spirit is the fruit of CHARACTER.1. Fruit reveals the nature of the tree. Jesus repeatedly taught that what grows on a treereveals what kind of tree it is. Matt 7:17 So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but thediseased tree bears bad fruit.● THREE TREES— You will know the ROOT by the FRUIT. Roots are○ Genesis 2:8–9: Matthew 7:17 So, every healthy tree bears goodfruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit.○ Psalm 1:3: He is like a tree, planted by streams of water, that yieldsits fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does,he prospers.○ Revelation 22: Then the angel showed me the river of the water oflife, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of theLamb 2 through the middle of the street of the city; also, on eitherside of the river, the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit,yielding its fruit each month.The primary evidence of the Holy Spirit is not what we can do but who we are becoming.Key Ideas:1.
