I started following her online and fell in love with her clothing and the size inclusivity she preached about. She was local in my area and over time we got to know a little bit about one another. While taking a break from my career, she said she needed an operations manager and wanted me to come work for her. Shortly after this, she told me she had 'hate/troll blogs' written about her online and would obsess about them daily. In addition to this obsession, I continued to see and experience additional red flags and ultimately quit my job a year and a half later on September 2, 2020. No one could have prepared me for what would transpire over the next 2 years. This influencer fabricated and perpetuated a massive campaign of lies against me with the intent to injure my reputation and thereby expose me to public hatred, contempt or ridicule, cause financial injury, or to impeach my honesty, integrity, virtue, or reputation. These lies were based on her own false narrative that I was the author of the 'hate blogs' about her and were so extensive and harmful to me professionally, emotionally, and physically that I sued her for defamation in an effort to get her to stop. Instead, she continued with even more force and incited her followers against me as well. She shared the lies often and on multiple social media profiles in an effort for "everyone" to "know" what I had done, except I had done ZERO of the things she claimed. After extensive delays brought on by the defendant, our trial was finally held in August 2022 and on August 24, 2022 the jury reached a unanimous verdict in my favor awarding damages of $246,500. All statements made by this influencer about me were and are false and defamatory. Despite the unanimous verdict, the defendant in this case continues to defame me even today. In addition to the 32 social media accounts she had prior to the trial, she has continued to create new ones and continues to make false and defamatory statements almost daily. In an effort to protect and restore my own online footprint and internet search results, I launched FalseAndDefamatory.com in late 2022 and have since purchased other domains related to the defendant that redirect to the actual truth and evidence in this case. After remaining silent while being publicly and constantly defamed for now almost 3 years, I am finally sharing my story. This is "False and Defamatory: The Impact of Defamation and Weaponized Social Media".
