Wait, did you have to go to Coachella this here? I did not I live across the street from Coachella though So why don't you just walk across the damn street? I don't want to I complain actually I said I complain I did I'm that guy just a I'm not you know I don't want to ruin people's fun or anything because I think it's great to have fun But once my neighborhood gets trashed with a bunch of you know plastic cups and garbage and a bunch of people Like camping out on your lawn No, I got it they rent houses all that that people will leave and rent their house out to everyone staying there They're Airbnb the entire my whole neighborhood is nothing but high school college kids where their parents pay for them to go Oh my gosh, yeah, it's pretty bad. That's hilarious like where I come from it's like Yeah, exactly and so you're like oh man the neighbors are playing there like money on your music Gail just out front your lawn just throw it out hello and welcome to opinion earring I'm one of your hosts Daniel Murray and we have Colton Freeman here as our other host to cult say hi hello guys And we have Jason Broome and Jason please say hi.

Hey guys. I'm Jason Okay, so opinionaries of podcast with lovers of movies music comics, etc. Everything out the book mostly pop culture We sit around a boost field table and just discuss today's entertainment world and today's episode is brought to you by white Russians And let me drink my white Russian also brought to you by the dude originally the dude Love him so like I said earlier opinion hearing is a podcast where Three lovers of pop culture entertainment just we sit around and we just talk and discuss how the entertainment world's going How movies music everything you know? I'm anything like that is just progressing along and if we like certain things and we didn't like certain things and it's a really Diverse group really because we all really don't like all the same exact things But we all appreciate the same exact things But sometimes I'm like all that sucks and cool.

That's great and like Bernie's the galaxy So So we're just gonna introduce opinioneering as just what how we got started It literally got started with me and Jason who both worked together and we were just talking about Movies and stuff and Jason's a big podcast fan even listen to podcast for a long time Jason's like a hipster before they were hipsters, so that makes sense, huh? That makes sense that makes total sense because like you know how hipsters always like oh, yeah, man Like I I totally knew that about that before anybody else like I knew about that band like Jason new hipsters were coming before hipsters came That's the hipster And that's why he hates them he sees them and he just hates them you should be their god technically So we were just talking about you know movies and I personally love movies more than anything else on this planet and And I know that's what you say like do this I think we can do this because I think our opinions are not you know They're not like Cisco neighbor, but they're not you know miss tweenie bopper on the side or mr. 20 bopper on the side, you know, yeah, I mean there's some of that for sure, but also I think it just boils down to a few things um just Wanting to try and provide a space where that's like Want to create a little listening space of stuff I would want to listen to and just trying to be honest with our opinions and not trying to jump on any bandwagon But just you know give it give it an honest go for what we really think about stuff and that's kind of where our Appianearing came in because obviously we value our own opinions very highly So so we have people who go to school for four years to become engineers and then it takes us just a nonstop flow of Opinions to be opinion years a lot of hard heads going right a lot of hard heads. Oh, yeah, yeah So that's where I started in Jason's like do you do this because like a lot of people and I'm not one I hate don't to my horn my horn Jason just always like tells people this but I have a very extreme Extreme opinions when it comes to stuff.

Oh, yeah, that's an understatement like there's people at work. That's not understanding No, that's an understanding a little bit There's people at work who Monday morning will be like hey, did you uh? Did you watch Josh Oscars? No, I can't wait for Danny to come in because like he's gonna have something so hilarious to say He's just gonna like he was probably like exploding veins in his forehead this past years.

It was whatever. Yeah Yeah, but Suvius is about to blow that's the first thing I do is I did any see this movie yet? What do you think about it? And then I'm usually like it's soft or it was amazing I was never like right in the middle, but that's that's what I hear that's what I get to that So yeah, that's how I got started and then we're like to okay like there's two of us Can we really get this the flow of it going and we're like no wait, you know why we should get on the podcast and Jason I right way thought of the same exact I would like to Colton Freeman hilarious guy Really needs to get on this because we love him with his opinion So we asked him he's like do you share so Colton set aside a day off of work and he comes down We usually shoot this podcast and we'll drive about two hours from where you from cool.

Well, you're from here originally from where we're in the AV now Originally from the AV like I said but now I'm living in Palm Desert, India area So we're gonna take the top three things that that we think that person is somewhat not an expert of but they know very very much of and The three things that I think you're very knowledgeable on like you're like everybody first foremost are one listener out there We have I think all of us have a pretty good general general Paul grass grass everything but there's like a couple things like oh man like he really knows about that you need information to go back Yeah, you go that guy so let's start with Colton start alphabetically see Colton So the three ones that I chose for you were all things Marvel so comics but most specifically out of Marvel It was the galactic realm of Marvel so like the outer space stuff. Yeah, not like the street street level Not street level. I know you I know he was spidey. Yeah, but I mean he also fights in galactic wars to see wars Yeah, so so I chose that one and in am I wrong by that Jason or because you found out a couple times Yeah for sure, I mean I don't know Colton night sometimes ticomics We don't like a ton of comics we usually like talking about movies or vaping.

Oh, yeah Those are two big topics and when you hear this That means they're smoking Maybe No, that's because we're vaping in the studio right now. Yeah, yeah, no so Colton give us a little insight into your Marvel live Where did that start? You know to be honest my start for Marvel. I always like this Marvel itself comic books also DC.

I wouldn't count DC So I like them both suit me on my first hero so that's a DC He's easy I give him credit for actually giving me into the comic universe period Well, how do you who introduced you that was like uncle or something here? My brother actually he wasn't big on comics, but he collected some he was he liked a Superman a little bit I had a friend that really likes to actually and he was really big on dr. Doom. That was really his big thing He was that where your love and dr.

Doom came from that's where my love came from. It's just handed down straight Yeah, that's my love dr. Doom quick sidebar question. Yeah, what's dr.

Do you know? I'm a Victor Von Doom Victor Von Doom. That's it. I forgot about the coolest name if I could change my name I'd be Victor Von Doom.

We don't you scare off a couple dates on like social networks. Okay kids too No, but yeah, that's what I started um Marvel started with honestly spider-man X-man 90 shows that's what that started originally I started with the TV shows on the kid of course I was getting on a re-cuter reading in the kid that's super so That's what that started was fantastic. That's not the best time of my life watching those shows and um What cool? I think Danny like I think right now we're watching like bunny and and someone just like reached out the giant Like Kane and like pulled him off stage right now.

Yeah, I think that was like a moment of cults going on like yeah I'm an nostalgia. This is my love and you're like okay, so thanks Colton I didn't mean that's like my brain is my brain is like no no no It's not like a looney TV's but no it was like that's really cool. Yeah, and I was asking another question based off that Jason Thank you very much, but you can keep going while I was gonna say I'm once I'm getting to the comics side It's actually you know a shot to run a really close buddies Caleb by just calm shop will come shop He he's trying to buying a lot of comics about the commies. I'm a buffy actually He's gonna buy comics.

Yeah, so I was like, you know I think I want to buy comic books as well and I started finding series to start reading and um One of the first series I ever read and actually loved even though I read it Wait a minute came out was in Finney Gotland and that's what got me like a galactic whole galactic universe because that was one of the best books I've ever read and it's fantastic. That's where all that really originated from so real quick Everybody knows it's been news for a while now that Marvel is leading up to the Infinity Wars in Five senses or less. What are your first impressions on what Marvel is building up to as of right now? Census or less remember as far as building up to the gauntlet itself.

Yeah. Yeah. How's it doing? I hope to see you in the next face.

Um, I hope to see just introducing more the kids have a lot to do with Thanos and everything in the gauntlet like strange. We have to have a doctor strange. He needs to be what we know the movie's coming Yeah, we can be a bit. Yeah, which is I also feel a great casting.

Yeah, I'm really happy about that Also, Adam Warlock needs to be playing apart here. We'll give him in it. I did read an article I know we've talked about this before that the cocoon and Guardians of the Galaxy. Yeah, I read it.

I said that article Yeah, I actually talked to you about that before I said I know you did but then you didn't see me article though Oh James Gunn said no, it's not it's not he's confirmed that that is not as a bummer because I liked it to hope it was yeah But that was a cool Easter egg that one thought for well But yeah, I mean I hope to see I mean it has to happen you have to have out more like just as much as you need Spider-Man for Civil War which is gonna happen and you need something that bad you're gonna make it happen when you're Disney Yeah, you've been to kids business you've been to everybody over to get what you want exactly and then so yeah, yeah Exactly I lost a little bit for it was a good movie just not what I was looking for yeah, I think it was more of a filler movie Yeah, it was a speed bump on the way to the back. Yeah, yeah, have you seen Avengers? Yeah, no, there was a you want to go see Mad Max. Oh, can I can I let out my own story?

Oh, sorry, I didn't know if that's what I was going I just wanted to throw you a story though There was a moment where you know it was one of those rare like oh, we have a babysitter and enough time for a movie What should we go watch and like reading over the list of what was in our awesome local cinema? It was like Ultron Mad Max easy decision. Yeah, I'm max It was pretty easy I mean I only saw an order of Avengers Mad Max's because Avengers came first, but they're both in theaters I don't know tough choice because man. I mean go to see Mad Max was the best decision I've made in it That's a few months so cool.

Let me talk about that Yeah, okay, so Marvel's moving on to the next one that I really believe that you have like a good pulse on like is movies Now a good thing that I love about your take on movies is that you always try to find something positive You can find something positive you will find it. Yeah, you know, but you're not always searching for it It's just like oh, I just naturally vault yeah I mean I hate to see something and not find something I enjoy especially my paper the film or even give credit to the film being made I mean I can't make a damn movie. You know, I mean like I like to give some credit where credit is needed Hold on. Here's a question.

Here's my brother who got me on my love of just filmmaking He always said this he always did this walking and I actually walked away with this too He forgot what movie we watched but he watched and he said I didn't like it and people like well What the heck is it? Well someone gave me a hundred twenty seven hundred seventy five thousand. Oh, sorry. Excuse me.

I said if someone gave me a hundred Seventy five million dollars. I wouldn't have made that although in some cases even if someone gave me a hundred and five thousand But that's the sum and you know, yeah, I would have made that movie, but did have choice Illuminati That's true. That's true not from it for as much as Danny is like Hulk rage all over Joss Whedon I mean, oh great and okay, hold on hold on a whole grade I just didn't like how fast everybody's on me And I was like, oh, okay cool And then the second Avengers came out and even critics were like that was just horribly disappointing because people like they gave him too much props Too fast. He was great in the 90s with Buffy and Firefly and all that adult house didn't last everything else It just hasn't really lasted well I just mean even as much as you know, and it's pretty unanimous here at the table that Ultron wasn't the greatest movie ever and certainly not as a follow-up to the original Avengers But you find out more and more after the fact that when you are, you know when Disney is signing your paychecks You do it also look at it because you just say you know It's about was as good as the first of ages to come But I mean look at what the first Avengers was you can't top everything you do the next time and perfect example is I bring it to The games which is another thing I like to talk about that was the next one.

Yeah, so I'm just gonna say a quick step on that For you acid the legend of Zelda ockernave time considered the greatest games or the greatest Zelda game to ever be made The next game of yours mask, which I personally love but it's the same engine everything people don't love it But look we came after the greatest Zelda game ever so people were looking for that expectation didn't get it Yeah, that's true that sure but when yeah, that's true that sure. Oh, okay So your love for movies I always give like a positive a positive like always a positive thing I have my negatives do this movie should be made period. Yeah, that is and We have a tiebreaker person that we'll talk about after we've introduced all of us But Colton is always a positive the third thing I cold and I he's always talking is a real fast Sorry over that all over. Will you make sure I'm noticing you're holding it like where your pinky is on the Cable and it's cutting you out.

Yeah, if you hold like that. That's cool when you're switching it to your left hand You're holding it low right there. Yeah, and I was cutting in and out cool. Excuse me.

Sorry. Well, that very sure Yeah, okay, so and the third thing I wanted to talk to you about you've always talked about it You always have every answer that I ask the questions I ask is video games So Right now you're constantly talking about Diablo and I mean you just met some family member of mine today And he was just wearing a video game So it's like you always have again just intense pulse on on what's happening in the video game world So what about video games? Is it just a love that you've had since a childhood or what did that happen? Yeah, I mean I started with I can't remember other I guess he's mostly inspiration really I do you know He had a regular Nintendo ever you know I would even just sit in the room.

I saw my ring I was yeah, I was in the room and watch him just play my type of punch out. Oh, you're God watch But that was great, you know blitz 2000 the bears, you know, it was Fun stuff that's what started Sega my first I can remember my first game playing was you know rage again We just picked a dinosaur a monkey just beat the hell of each other. Yeah, yeah a lot of fun So I started then wait not like toroc wasn't toroc. No, that's 64 though.

Yeah, we would have a little bit But I'm not here almost like a space Navajo or something like like another planet Yeah, yeah, yeah, that kill of lots of raptors Someone did a Jurassic world and they took like the Domis Rex and took up the T-rex That's here at some to rock and then the dude that's at the bottom of the cover they just put Chris Brad there and they just put toroc That's why that's why the games come from it. It's it's just a big hobby A lot of people take games huge places pro gamers to which streams a lot, you know, you get people watching 34,000 people on a stream watching It's insane, you know legal legends do those games and I do you know ice a stream occasionally and stuff like that And what game you see stream I try streaming Diablo for a little bit also mainly Marvellous Capcom I was being a Marvellous Capcom scene. Okay, so we have two Marvellous Capcom lovers here Jason was a huge fan and I heard was actually a pretty damn good player Of Marvellous Capcom to the arcade version that like did you or did you have the PSD version? Well, let's see here So I guess I should have said that since I'm a little older.

Yeah, like that generation of games like a great game Oh, yeah, that was fantastic. So like back in the day, um You know a group of friends and I were like big into Dreamcast and Dreamcast had a lot of amazing fighting games. There was um Project justice. There was um s&k versus Capcom.

There was um, that's MKs. That's like the company that makes like samurai showdown um fiddle fury Oh, okay. Okay. Okay.

So it was like all their characters versus all the Capcom characters So, you know how there's Marvellous versus Capcom while this was in that same idea It could have been called just were Street Fighter for the main part though. It mainly just Street Fighter's and yeah, and yeah, and it was uh pretty cool like Actually, there's like some pretty cool stuff in that one. But anyways, yeah, Marvellous versus Capcom too for a long time I don't remember now if I only had it on PS2 or if I ever made it so I didn't really remember I'm sure our one listener out there will look at PD that for us, but It did make it to actually because I have the copy. Okay, it's actually worth like 85 bucks right now really seriously Yeah, yeah, because you can I mean it was a rare thing to find So I mean it is worth.

I mean it might have dropped This is I looked maybe last year when it was like 80 bucks on my job. I don't know but cool cool. It was worth some cash Sweet. So yeah, I usually had like a combo of like spidey Plus this is too.

You're talking about yeah, yeah, I played it a few times but by that point Today, I'm at a point where I think back in those days Um, it was always like groups hanging out in plane So it was cool, but now I'd be playing by myself most of the time and occasionally have a friend and that's just boring Well, at least for me like for me to have a lonely guy Jason. I'll call him. He'll be like I'll play some npc training mode. Yeah, okay.

See but he's like competitive. I was never that I was more just like hey Let's have fun guys. No, I should be funny Not far to lose. I'm good.

Yeah, I'm actually I'm working on my new team Yeah But yeah, so Colton's basically but he also knows about music and everything like that Those are the top three things that we that we have chosen like that is gonna be like Colton's crème de la crème So in the coming weeks we want to do review of the dark night arkham's arkham I mean Batman arkham night because that's the last one of the arkham series. We'll be doing that You know hopefully here in the future. I don't know like that seems like a game that I won't be able to review for like six months Because I'm just gonna play I'm like milk every ounce of gameplay I can do this with ending it's gonna be like six. No, no, just talk spoil it.

Here's the thing just real quick I'm just so glad because arkham a silent came out and then the was a year and a half later arkham city did It was a little over a year. It wasn't exactly year. Was it two years? That was actually like a two-year Yeah, it was from from city to origins.

That was one year. Yeah, and that's it was too soon And we're like, oh it's the same exact thing go do this. It felt like it's that's a screen all over again But I'm glad to what three years now two two three years. I want to say probably two probably in the Batman revenue build up with the new movie I can't I want to oh, yeah sure um I went to comic con two years ago, and that's when they were doing yeah I sleepless two years ago, so I think that was good enough gap for people to be okay You know this can be pretty sweet plus it's on the new gens.

So that's gonna be plus with the great, you know Of the great stuff that brings yeah, so let's move around from Colton. Thank you. You're welcome. Thank you, sir You know the medical is that like yourself now?

Yeah, well I changed it from alphabetical to clockwise now You're we're co-hosts. We're all three equals you can't just change the game. Okay, so I'll go counterclockwise alphabetically And I'll be me and then okay, you guys do it. You guys you guys tell me the things I like to talk about Like just me drinking my drink.

Yeah, you know Danny is um Definitely the movie guru of the bunch guru guru. You're you're on the movies your on point Yeah, with the borderline like autistic level autistic. Yeah level of knowledge about directors and stuff like that Yeah, there's names he's popping on He's like he's also the biggest critic like it's a true critic because I go on like I said try to find the positives But that's not a critic you become a critic by finding positive you become a critic by you know dog in a movie So I've heard you dog more movies than I've heard you like I'm saying say that I'm just gonna say that but the ones you do like are definitely hit hit to the box obviously good movies So I haven't heard you say you like a movie that that I thought was terrible Okay, so you know I mean but I have hated a movie that you thought was great not great, but like I mean you loved G yeah, that was a very fun movie I'd like so I'm gonna say because I know what a good movie is and it comes down as far as director filming some talk Do we just watch a movie today? Yes, we can get into that.

Okay, I'm sorry I'm too excited to get that's what I feel you huge on a few games and you're also being on the sports side We go to FIFA you talk about your off about that. So if we have one of the deal the sports and things So you know Colton just about a FIFA. We know your your level of love Have you seen any of John Oliver's segments recently? Oh your lord.

Yes, I have that was pretty funny Okay, it was like this it was one of those things my cousin who's a Barcelona fan sent me and I was driving and you You showed me couple kicks from John Oliver and I've liked all of her since um he was on co-op report right? No, he was on the show but didn't he do a couple segments on co-bear before? No, he might mean I don't want to say he was never a guest. He probably was at some point But he was never like a that's he's a daily show guy where he comes on and is like John Oliver our senior correspondent on whatever the heck they make up that day Well, anyways, I've seen clips and I thought I was cold bear, but yes And I've always liked him, but yes I have seen piece of the FIFA thing because I was driving home and it was getting me so not riled up But it was just like oh my gosh, this is he was well.

I was not right. It was no, it was funny I was laughing and I was just like I got it was one of those things like it was like x and y by coldplay Like I'm gonna listen to this. I'm gonna wanna listen to it in all glory kind of thing, you know So I was like I haven't finished watching the entire thing cuz you know he ran for like 15 20 minutes Yeah, well, he's got last year he did a segment that was like, you know 15 16 minutes and then after all that crap went down He did a follow-up segment this year like three weeks ago two three weeks. Yeah, yeah Right, I've seen I've seen the whole entire thing of what he did for the personal will cut Okay, yeah, I saw the whole thing of that one and that one just like tore up mess up That was that was bad And then this one with the you know with the revolt and the FBI which I think it's funny that the FBI the one country That doesn't even call it by its original name, right?

And they don't even like and they're like they don't even monitor Their own damn football, you know like there's people like football NFL here is also a non-profit organization mind you And it's rakes and money and it has you know dirty refs and everything but they're like oh FIFA America wants to show that we care because we Oh wow got through the group stage of the World Cup you won one game USA. Sorry. I'm a huge USA soccer Except for the u20s new generation. I do appreciate them.

So yes, I have seen that video and I did appreciate it It was really funny. It's really sad that the sport that I love has come to that. Yeah, so yes, I have sorry Yeah, I'll jump in really quick with my question. I thought you were good at you know a lot of So I got you into the movies into the movie media into that in that era Uh, the very very very first movie.

I went to go see was Jurassic Park I was five years old. I remember it my dad took me to move Sidmark movies 12 We sat in the back and I for some weird reason like that opening scene with a velociraptor The greatest lines It's always sucked in my brain. Yeah, it's good. It was so good.

Like you don't see the dinosaur You see the eyes and like and I just watched the other day on VHS which I bought when I was a student 3d when it came back with No, I didn't I was a good opportunity. It was good. It was good. I thought it was just a cop out of like here's another old 3d movie Okay, it looked good So um they started with Jurassic Park and um and it evolved from there actually okay So my love for movies came from that and then my love for acting believe it or not Everybody laughs at me for this one chasing always laughs at me.

There was a movie that was made back in the early 90s By my favorite actor of all time. Um actually not all time. That's alive today And it's christian bale and it's a movie called new z's I was a really small key when it came out in some musical and my parents grew me up as a kid just watching black and white movies If it was color it was from the devil So I was watching you know gene kelly fredis archer drodgers Danny kade don l'conner All these people frankson notra d marna. Oh japan trolley chaplain.

Yeah, the kid and then a buster keaton. Yeah, the great the great train race Um Yeah, so I started there and then with new z's it was like young kids dancing and singing and I've always loved me It was a gold stuff like that. So um in halfway through the movie. Um, William randal first goes to jet kelly Um christian bell character who's the leader of the new's who are kids back in the turn the last century who sold newspapers on the corner for a penny Um, yes, right No, like because that's the first line of the movie like kids were on the corner street selling for penny a peep Like I've always said no z's get your papers.

They never said papers as papers That's what I just said no, he said papers. I said get your papers. I think you had a R. I think of that.

Thank you We'll have to we'll have to look inside your Just let's replay it. Yeah, so it's about William Randolph Hearst who's in charge of like this huge Million dollar newspaper conglomerate like the huge thing back in the winter in the centuries true story and And he goes to the kid and he says hey stop going on strike and not selling my newspapers Um, I'll give you as much money as you want. You can go wherever you want just Turn sites be a turncoat and I was like six or seven years old when I watched it as after Jurassic park where I just fell in love with movies And it was the first time I was I ever felt betrayed by a character because like I was a little kid and like jecky was like he was the man like he took About people it was cowboy. He was my boy and I felt betrayed and like it it It got to me emotional like I literally felt betrayed Um and ever since then like I I saw what movies can do to people It gave me a sense of wonder and splendor and excitement with Jurassic world It just literally took into a different place.

So my love for movies started there I love for acting started when I felt betrayed. So when things can touch me on an emotional level That's when I actually I wanted to delve into it more and more and more So that's where started and then growing up my other brother who is up he loves film as well and He did a couple Did some small directorial stuff? He started his own film company and so I like that so I worked on sets and then my whole family my cousin He works on scandal right now and um, yeah, we're just a family full of just film people And that's where it started and it still grows today of I've literally seen so many movies aging back to the golden Hollywood of the 1930s 40s 50s all the way to today and seen that natural progression of Of where movies have been where they come how they show who we were in that generation So that's why I like it also depicts a time. That's why I love movies.

That's where I started sorry some deep stuff a little bit I know I I didn't know that such deep back and come to Jurassic Park, but it's awesome It did dude. That's why I'm on the white grass world today like the very first time I was like I literally got teary eyed because I kind of wish that my own son was old enough that I could take him Like my dad took me but like literally I teary eyed because I love movies It's kind of funny because I told Jason and I would not to kid like entertainer I know because there was a kid like after like a dollar search like kill someone like Yeah, it's just crying. It's just like I might be extra six years. Yeah, they didn't have the same effect.

Don't go out on Halloween. Yeah, but yeah No, I wouldn't take him right now, but when he was older I wish I could but yeah, that's movies really really get me in a good way Get me in the fields. All right, awesome. So movies Jason you got anything I know other questions.

I think so I'm just movie guy movie guy not even a movie guru Um, I know you're in a game as well, but not as heavily as me. You got a very selective Collective pick of games. I mean, you're pretty heavy on people. I know you're like uncharted.

I do love uncharted I like yeah, I do I'm hard. I'm a big crick on games But just for myself not for other people yeah, because when someone says I like that movie I'm just like oh it's a horrible thing of me by judging them because of it But video games I don't judge people for you. I think you judge me to look at me about sometimes a little bit But video games don't like Jason loves the game and I love it too Just how beautiful it is and how the gameplay is is the last of us I think it's amazing game, but I just mean my personally I can't get free you know It's funny me being such a huge game guy play tons of games. I love games I didn't play the last of us But I watched other people play it because I want to see what was all about but I never had a chance I want to be broke.

Sorry about that. I never had a chance to stand up late myself, which was a bummer Well, yeah, I definitely saw footage of the game and thought it was amazing And I feel totally left out by not playing it. It's quite the experience. It really really was like that was one game where Not only is the you know art direction and gameplay incredibly solid But they do just a great job telling their story and immersing you in their world even in the fact that they chose that You have really limited supplies and ammo in the game.

So you can never you're never ever in a position It's like playing through a movie. Yeah, so Games give you the emotional ride. So keep playing a film almost playing this life situation Yeah, there's other games that like they're so symbolic like there was like a game for PlayStation network exclusive called Journey And that was a little rag dude, and he had a scarf that helped him fly But it was like that that game got me teary-eyed to when he's like when he's going up to snow and he's like tracking through You never played journey. I've seen a rather good game It's like it's like literally a story of someone's life like oh I was born and I like grew up and then there's a hard times and then you're like you're like I can't go any further There's a moment that there's a bright white like whoa The score is amazing in there, too, but they take it on emotional right and they don't have to take you through a movie That's why I like it gets on a different feels feels own kind of thing journey's great.

I like yeah, there's definitely something although Movies are yeah, I love film, but there's definitely somebody to be said that well-made games because they allow you to actually participate in the story as it's unfolding It can immerse you in a way that movies can't sometimes when it's done right, you know But there's too much sometimes like there are various too much like people are like I know you guys love the games And I just couldn't I just couldn't get my personality I just couldn't get into it because I'm not video game I just I don't know I just want to shoot things I guess or just score But Mass Effect dude you decide the fate of a million people Until the end and then yeah, and then and then I'm like dude That's a lot of pressure like that's an insane amount of pressure like dude one dissociation I do one decision you make and you'll find out that like you massacred 50 million I'm like are you serious? That's a lot of crying people well not really because you demolish the entire planets and I won't cry for it But really stuff yeah, so but that kind of type of game since it's too much like I just want to shoot things I don't want like it like it'll say something and that gives you a chance to give like four for Responses I can't stand that because there's always two that are kind of very similar to one like You close pick yeah, you do it. It's just a game in the end. Yeah, but you kill 50 million people automatically In video game room.

Yeah, well if you watch Tron that's like massacre. Yeah, yeah Tron Lear Just George a lot of long so if you think of it trying you're killing things that are actually functioning Yeah, exactly Tron to the original tron the 80s that was one big one that I'm done I'm watching the What something you want something that's not a movie you want to see whether the game a book anything you've seen What what's something you'd want to see become a film? I want to see become like as a story like video game or book is that what you're asking? Like a current book a current video game Comic well, I was gaming into a movie with the little girl from Game of Thrones We can we go destiny wouldn't be a good movie?

I don't know a good book Or like what would you watch an original you want to see me made with today's technology? Yeah, dude I literally thought of the giver and then they totally just it yeah, they tanked it like hard. Yeah Yeah, I don't fall sick It was bad. It was just it was just you have cool Bum.

Yeah, I don't know I will swing back to the only thing about that But okay, so like movies and games cool Okay, if I could just jump in on that question I was thinking about it right now It would be very specific if it was games. Oh wait. Hold on. Let me guess Okay, can I guess it has to y'all stuffy guess cuz there's two parts isn't just that I want to see it made But it has to be like who would do it?

Okay, let me get what you want to be made the game would be shadow the classes correct? You know Jason well, I do okay, okay Peter Jackson. No are you I know how much you love no Lee Chris no, I know how much you love him But he's not like that because it also shadow classes is like a fantasy style and I know you love the Lord of the rings the book No, the books are still I mean they've lived as long as they have for a reason they're amazing the movies the first one honestly I did like I watched it like changed my life like oh my god The second one was still great, but even even by the third one. I was already feeling like well, you know it's good But then the hobby comes around oh, okay.

I'm okay. I'm sorry. I forgot those existed. Yeah, I forgot those existed I'm sorry, please forgive me here.

You forgive okay, so shadow the classes and the director Did I is it only no okay? I knew it wasn't only just because he's not that kind of thing No, it's actually in my perfect world. It would be shot of the classes Directed by Hayami as Aki and it would be a studio ghibli film It'd be an enemy. Yeah.

Well not like just like some cheesy enemy would be specifically Studio Ghibli, okay, and specifically Hayami as Aki was directed. Okay. Yeah, I Will do I look forward to your answer. I'm thinking I'm thinking of a reboot.

Well, we're getting a Terminator reboot But that's right. We all know I just really want to come out with a new Mortal Kombat movie What I don't think I've seen one of those really they I like the first one of the kids on Netflix right now Yeah, no, I was on Netflix night crawler. That's just on Netflix. I'm gonna add that to my cue Cool, so yeah, let's go on and that's a luncheon to me.

I'm let's go to Jason Jason is the Okay, I was a server for about two years and you couldn't go to a table and be like how y'all ladies Do it's not kind of a thing and then like and then like when they're like oh, it's my birthday and you ask them for ID And they get and they think that they're really old but they're only like 31 they get so offended by that Everybody says like oh no, you're just you're just like it's just the oh, yeah Like oh, they're just seasoned you know people like oh you're just seasoned or you're just I just tell so I wasn't safe Jason is the most seasoned person in this room And that's he brings a wide variety of like I was born in the 80s by born in the 80s You know, so you're calling Jason wise I'm telling you just very wise because he sees it firsthand like dude I was there when like I had pumps dude. I was there when they dropped the when they dropped the bomb on Hiroshima No, like you had little man with Jordan pumps. Sorry. I'm little man Was Hiroshima.

Yeah, and then fat boy was not okay. Okay. I'm sorry Japan. I Will get to Japan with you in the same so um so he's no season So he's seen all like things the 80s 90s and today.

I sound like a local radio thing So more specifically Jason is a Hispanic male that believed he was Japanese for like 10 years. Okay, so how earlier Danny said like you're like Oh Jason's a guy who's into stuff before anyone else I just thought you were really hipster so way back in the you know early 90s I was watching anime before the world knew the anime did you watch not you know me? I wasn't to animate before to not me Okay, here's like somebody maybe there's like somebody out there who recognizes be Bob robot where can't we be Bob? Yeah, amazing.

Oh, yeah, exactly amazing. Um, but no some of my earliest anime memories Um, I was saying to you back in the day of course speed racer I think Like oh Speed what you gonna do? He couldn't talk that's a little brother Jim Jim talked I don't Can't talk Yeah, he just talked monkey. Yeah, why'd you say words?

Oh that was that was spread? Yeah, a little brother. Oh Jim Jim. Oh, okay He's at it again Okay, I'm shim-chim.

Okay, so freaking shrunk and there's a monkey in the trunk anyway, right? So there was a speed racer um probably like one of like the most ultimate ones I loved was was called Ronan warriors and I think that Japanese title was like Yodoy then samurai troopers or something like legendary armor samurai troopers the most intense name you possibly get right um that was like pretty much Badass I loved that show. Um, let's see what else was that the one. Oh, no, that was robo in robo tech So in Japan it was called McCross super dimensional fortress McCross more badass names But um here was called as a part of a serious about robo tech But anyways, um I freaking to this day I think like that introduced me to the concept of like space opera And there's a scene that I forever will think is one of the most incredible scenes in science fiction because it ties together my two favorite things music and Like chicken pot pie.

So there's a scene. They're fighting this alien race. That's never been exposed to culture All they know is war like from the time that they are are born all they do is no war And so what ends up happening is they realize over their encounters with this with this group if they come into contact with human culture It like freaks them out like they fry a circuit kind of not like they don't die But they just get all like nauseous and queasy like what what's love like what the hell and so Yeah So there's a scene hurts and it's like the big climactic battle moment and all of the alien forces how converged into Earth's um You know all around the earth and like you see literally there's like thousand a million Let's say battleships all gathered around all earth has left is them across they're one You know battleship and their plan is they get all of their pilots out into space and across all Communication channels everything dies out like human like it can't communicate back to one another and all they're gonna Do is broadcast this one song and the song just keeps playing and then the aliens pick it up And then they're like oh like what are we hearing kind of everything and so like that's the moment that everyone's song It was it was made for the show like oh like there's a character who's like I was hoping you were gonna say Collins coming in the Anime nerdiness so in the in the movie for it. I only know the so it's like Oh Oh my gosh hold on wait wait wait wait wait I need to ask this question I need to ask this question.

This is a question that needs a question How many freaking times have you have you have you heard that song? Okay? Here's a story behind that no no every time cuz there's a story oh my god back in the Sega Saturn days I imported the video game for this and the final level is playing through that battle and so the song plays During the level and I died Thousands of you just like stood in the corner left the game on so you hear the song ever be really Really? I'm like a mile just like you get in front of the mirror just going at it and talking cut so it's like a Japanese You know like I was like you know zero zero zero that was a racing game But it's like a shooting game like um like the game street like one little plane and there's like bullet hell and there's like bullets everywhere Like you gotta get a look at like a kind of a guy guess and so it's super crazy hard And I died a thousand times I heard this song and repeat over and over and over and so that's why I know Okay, you're dying so much Question is do they really go?

I love you. It's one girl. Okay. This might be really racist, but I love you Oh my god So it's like because I've told you this before I don't like I do love enemies I just I think they don't know how to do opening credits Okay, cuz it's like I just watched full metal alchemist and like the dude gets his arm and leg cut off Like he's like his arms with blood everywhere and it's like a pentagram is grown on the floor or something And it's like in like the music's like all like dark and everything and it goes with crazy I'm me and it's like it's like big lovely like song of happiness.

I'm like what the hell just happened This guy get like I don't like their music so but they literally sing. I love you at the end in this battle It's okay, so in the movie In the movie version of this because in anime it's pretty common that they'll have like a 20-some episode TV series and then they'll create a movie that's a condensed version of the whole thing so in the movie They find that once upon a time like a billion years ago This alien culture did have a culture and they find this song They find the record ruins and they find these lyrics and they get a translator and they realize oh, yeah This is a song from their lost culture. Here's an idea Let's put it to music and sing this in glorious irony this love song as to distract them why they're about to attack Yeah, that would be great if they got rid of it just cuz it was such a bad song Yeah, that's why they're like That whole concept of like music rock and roll to save the world It wasn't even rock and roll but music to save the world like was to my you know people They should just show the rock song to change the world. It's sort of a death punk music video Yeah, they would have been set exactly but to my brain my adolescent brain that was like Oh my name is incredible.

Okay, so anime. I'm good. Obviously greatest anime you've ever seen in your life I'll tell you my most personal and forever beloved anime is Ruoni Kenshin, okay to this day. I still I Still love that so any audience out there that has that doesn't already run kitchen So I'm not gonna ask you like what is a royal kitchen?

I'm asking you they did come out with a couple of live action Roni Kenshin Japan did it do it justice. They were also badass They're pretty freaking awesome. They were bad ass dude like the first one took a little bit of liberties It it it mostly covered through this first story arc of him going from being a wanderer around all of Japan to entering into Tokyo and Coming into contact from elements of his past and all this stuff and deciding he was gonna settle down But they kind of like changed some stuff around it and it was really good But it wasn't until the second one that I was like this is amazing. I really even the action fighting was good Yeah, okay They actually did a good job because they didn't own use really they didn't rely on like conquer well as a lesson right less Okay, I want to know be they and what they ended up doing was they used strings only to enhance Things like running so there's a few times where you'll see him running and it looks like he's running at like hyper speed or something And I guess on a practical standpoint what they did was they used to like pull him along So he looks like he's like running like a billion miles per hour or whatever dodging like bullets or something But it was pretty pretty damn you did a long time ago I haven't seen the entire series.

I'm sorry, but I did see the entire summary x beginning his origin story, which I absolutely loved yeah Did the live actions cover some ranks? Oh? No, not really there was seen okay in the third one how many are there there's three How long are they sorry 45 hours now are no of the live actions? I think I would have full blue movies.

Yeah, they're like like two hours. Okay the third one because in that in the in the manga that Story revolves around him trying to figure out like Can you if you guys haven't heard of it? It's about a seminary once upon a time He was like this, you know in Japan Civil War era. He was a revolutionary He learns the most deadly sword style ever so that makes that source alcohol He sent me to do you do these words though And so he So he is a user of you know, he sent me to do these sorts that tell me war So he has okay, I'll switch up.

He has all these like awesome. He has to learn That's it the spot He takes an oath it's totally tragic at the end of this you know revolution period he ends up accidentally murdering his wife Dude the way they do it like you hear right now like what the hell how can you do that? Like it's full going like yeah, it's like some hoops. I dropped the steak knife On her head and so but when he you know as she's like dying in his arms She carves out a star in his face And it was like one of these like he carries this burden now forever and he takes about it never kill again So then when Japan comes into a period of uprising, it's like can I help?

Using the sword and never kill can I keep my vow so he's wrestling back and forth he finds his old master who he parted ways So now you know it's nearly 15 years later. He reunites them for the first time Then it has a lot of flashbacks of how they met. Oh, and it goes back to some of that stuff. Wow What I was a jump.

I actually I think I want to hear that song one more time Okay, here's my first Japanese kind of song I ever learned um the Japanese version of the Hercules movie cartoon song I am on my way was sung. Yeah, exactly. It was sung by this Japanese dude named Fuji Fumia and I remember of this I remember learning this and I thought it was so great, but it's totally different melody really Yeah, I know they didn't use that song I use a different one it was I can't remember if I wasn't being recorded I probably remember that's fair, but it was pretty good the first one though real quick I want to hear it again. I want to hear it again.

Okay, we'll be the aliens and you'll be the yeah We're coming to attack you guys. All right, so okay pilots get into your your velcaries time to go And then they like the all jump in because they were F14s in space That transform into giant robots So they're like and have you seen it spells Japanese? It's freaking awesome Like when they when they like unleash missiles it looks so awesome because they're like all these like They'll unleash like 40 heat-seeking missiles at once I have these like crazy I mean, I don't know I still want to hear the song But every Japanese show something transforms into something insane from like something normal. Oh, yeah everything It's like when they're writing a show like whoa, this needs something more transformation Oh Jason is our long tangent yeah very long tangent.

I was our In studio anime and technological and we know that we know that Jason's part Japanese now Well, Jason used to claim he was Japanish and then and then get this we live in a place Well the alvele he went to a high and he ran for mr Av and he showed up on stage for a talent in a full-blown komodo in my formal where I think was a komodo and he had a xylophone Let's correct this for the record. It's no less embarrassing It's no less embarrassing, but here's what it was if I'm aware I walk in a komodo for my talent I came back out in a komodo and when I played was not some racist in an attempt it was the theme song to Final Fantasy 8 How does it go it goes? Eyes on you Yeah, it's sung by a Chinese woman. Oh, but it's in English wait what?

Fantasy is by Chinese or she's just trying to show is they chose a Chinese pop song is pop singer. Oh, it's doing their song And it's an English Girls No, I played Let's get real it wasn't actually that fun, you know, there's like children's picture price pianos You put the batteries in on stage exactly exactly About triple by accident and I don't know if you're gonna flip it up. Yeah, yeah, okay Well, that is our very first episode of the pinionering is introduction to us and who we are in our backgrounds and our passions and stuff Please subscribe to us.
