As a Physical therapist specialized in oncology , I developed this podcast to bring education from the different interdisciplinary team.In today Episode I have a special guest.Dr. Lisa Spiguel is an Associate Professor at the University of Florida, and the clinical lead for the UF Health Breast Center. She provides leading care in breast health, breast cancer diagnosis and treatment, as well as assessment and counseling of high breast cancer risk women. Her clinical and academic interests intersect with a focus on improving quality of life of our breast cancer survivors with a special interest in breast cancer related lymphedema. She has developed a multidisciplinary lymphedema surveillance program with lymphedema certified physical therapists at the University of Florida. Her research endeavors have focused on the prevention of lymphedema following axillary lymph node dissection. She plays an active role in expanding clinical trials to her patient population.As the Clinical Lead for the UF Health Breast Center, her mission is to uphold our breast center as a nationally recognized Breast Center of Excellence. Through her direction, she leads our multidisciplinary breast cancer team through weekly multidisciplinary conferences, as well as monthly breast leadership meetings.
