When you think of "coming out", it's most likely you're imagining a young man or woman sitting their parents down, and confessing that they're gay. Coming out has been an essential part of visibility in the LGBTQ+ rights movement for decades. This year, I worked with Elizabeth Holliday to highlight the stories of folks whose sexualities and gender identities do not fit into the Gay or Lesbian vs. Straight binary.
