Episode 10: Department of Labor’s Final Rule

In episode 10, Jeff Kimmel and Damien DeLaney, Co-Chairs of Akerman’s Wage and Hour Practice, discuss the Department of Labor’s final rule increasing the salary thresholds for the overtime exemptions for executive, administrative, and professional employees as well as the “highly compensated executive” exemption and how employers should prepare pending the effective date of the final rule. Note: Since the recording of this podcast several court cases have been filed challenging the validity and enforceability of this final rule. We will provide updates in future episodes on any significant developments in these cases.
