Hook-up culture can be a way to explore your sexuality in a fun, no-strings-attached way. Both of our hosts have had (safe and healthy) hook-ups, make-out sessions, and one-night stands. It’s a part of growing up, and it helped us become the women we are today.Female sexuality is not often talked about. Mainstream media tells us to keep our legs closed and our virginity to ourselves until we get married. Otherwise, we’re labeled as sluts, bops, or messy. Then again, those who don’t ever hook up are labeled stuck-up, prudes, and childish—so there’s no winning either way.So instead of following rules that set us up to fail, let’s embrace our sexualities in a fun and safe way! We deserve the same chance to explore our sexuality as men do! And we should be able to do it safely and without stigma.In this week’s episode, we’ll be talking about hook-up culture both here in the U.S. and in the Netherlands. We are two different women with two different sexualities, which means our journeys looked so different in some ways, but also similar in others. And that’s okay!
