Episode 10 - Margaret Nobes

from Women In Wellies Podcast

Margaret Nobes is a fencing contractor working across Aberdeenshire alongside her husband, Gordon. Originally from Benbecula in the Outer Hebrides, Margaret grew up in a crofting family. Join us as Margaret takes us from crofting on the Islands to building a life on the mainland, and having the best of both worlds.  We hear about Margarets love for the outdoors and challenging the perception that agriculture is a male dominated industry, along with the inspiration she draws from the resilience and tenacity of the previous generations, and how important it is to respect and understand her heritage as part of continuing her family's crofting legacy. Margaret also shares the power of community on the Islands, and how this support helped her and her family through the loss of her brother, and the subsequent closeness it brought them. Connect with Margaret on social media : Instagram - @the_fencing_wifieEpisode Recorded on Sunday 28th May 2023 All views expressed are our own.
