Gary sits down with fellow New Englander Russ Gannon — a Needham, Massachusetts native and Emerson College alum whose path to acting is one of the most unique you'll hear on this show.Before he ever stepped in front of a camera, Russ built a career in radio — as a talk show producer at WRKO, a traffic reporter at WBZ, and a DJ at WXRV. It was a single week on the set of The Game Plan as a background actor that flipped a switch and sent him down a completely different road. From that point on, there was no turning back.Since making the leap, Russ has racked up an impressive string of credits — appearing in Boston Strangler, American Fiction, Free Guy, Dexter: New Blood, and the Cannes-celebrated indie Eephus. He's also lent his voice to multiple seasons of PBS's Frontline as a narrator and translator, and has branched into animation voice acting as well.
