Episode 10. Toxic Relationships

Today’s episode is about Toxic Relationships. We have all been there…saying it’s not me, it’s you! As you are listening maybe a specific person or relationship comes to mind? The term toxic relationship is a label projection. Projection comes down to self-defense. Projecting something you don’t like about yourself onto someone else protects you from having to acknowledge parts of yourself you don’t like. A common example is a cheating spouse who suspects their partner is being unfaithful. Instead of acknowledging their own infidelity, they transfer, or project, this behavior onto their partner. Because people tend to feel more comfortable seeing negative qualities in others rather than in themselves. www.annaanka.com
