Episode 100: The Final Conversation – Talking to Jesus

In this final episode, I reflect on why I have decided that, after nearly three years, Talking to the Dead has reached its natural conclusion. During my recent break, I realised just how much this journey has given me—but also how deeply immersing myself in psychic phenomena, spirit communication, interdimensional beings and the possibility of disclosure has affected my everyday life. I explain why I now feel the need to step back and focus more on my family, friends, happiness and the next chapter of my own life. But before I finally close the door on the podcast, I want to come full circle. I ask what may be the biggest question I have ever attempted: can I make contact with the energy or consciousness we know as Jesus?Rather than travelling to a cathedral or some grand religious location, I find myself sitting on a bench beside the Rhine, surrounded by nature, facing east and simply trusting my instincts. It feels somehow more appropriate than any church or monument—a simple setting for what is the final and most extraordinary experiment of the entire series. I explore the Gospel of Philip and other apocryphal writings excluded from the established Biblical canon, asking whether these ancient texts might offer a very different perspective on Jesus, consciousness, life after death and the mysterious beings that may have been part of humanity's religious history from the very beginning.This is the final journey with Talking to the Dead—and perhaps the most ambitious conversation I have ever attempted. The Gospel of Philip and the Ideas I ExploreI talk about my discovery of the Gospel of Philip, one of the ancient texts that was not included in the New Testament, and why I find these alternative writings so fascinating.I explore the idea that religious truth may have been far more diverse and mysterious in the earliest days of Christianity than the version that eventually became established by the Church.One of the ideas that particularly interests me is the suggestion that death is not necessarily an ending, but a transition into another state of existence or consciousness.I consider the Gospel of Philip's emphasis on spiritual awakening and inner knowledge—the idea that understanding the divine may not simply come through following religious rules or institutions, but through personal experience and transformation.I explore the possibility that the Kingdom of Heaven is not simply somewhere we go after death, but something that may already exist around us and within us, although we may not yet be capable of perceiving it.I reflect on the idea that resurrection may be more than a single future event. It may represent an awakening or transformation of consciousness that can begin during life itself.I discuss the importance of overcoming the separation between the physical and spiritual worlds, and the possibility that what we call life and death may simply be different aspects of a much larger reality.I also consider the Gospel of Philip's mysterious approach to Christ and the nature of Jesus, and whether the Christ consciousness could represent something larger than the historical figure described by conventional Christianity.These ideas connect strongly with themes I have explored throughout Talking to the Dead: that consciousness may survive physical death, that reality may contain dimensions we cannot normally perceive, and that humanity may be far more connected to a larger spiritual reality than we currently understand.Have we spent thousands of years building religions around Jesus while perhaps losing sight of the deeper and more personal message he was trying to communicate?Put aside the churches, the traditions and the expectations, and simply sit in nature and attempt to make my own direct connection with whatever consciousness, intelligence or energy may lie behind the figure we know as Jesus Christ.
