Episode 101 | Abortion & Mental Health

On Friday June 24, 2022 the US Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, turning abortion laws over to the states. Those against abortion often use the argument that abortion has negative effects on the mental health of the person that had the abortion to defend anti-abortion laws. In today's episode I dive into the research on the relation between abortion and mental health. I discuss the mental health outcomes of those who seek an abortion for an unwanted pregnant, those who are denied an abortion, and those who experience an abortion for a wanted pregnancy. I also discuss the mental health implications of Roe v.
